My Francine + Macky's Erastos
Summary: Relationships and stuff.
Francine;
Francine scrambled up the side of the mountain, trying to keep her "hoofholds" in the loose gravel. She panted and sweat dripped off her coat until she finally reached the edge and pulled her self up over the top. Francine stood still, panting. Suddenly she saw a lovely flaxen chestnut stallion emerge from the trees. His soft brown coat and handsome green mane glistened in the late afternoon sun. She felt her jaw drop at the sight of him. She quietly and quickly walked over to some nearby trees and hid so she could watch him some more..she just couldn't keep her eyes off of him.
Erastos;
Erastos sniffed the air, and pushed his ears back quickly, there is another horse around. He breathed in another whiff of the fresh mountain air, and the sweet scent of a small, feminine figure slammed him in the face. Erastos shook his head and sneezed. He would look like a clumsy idiot in front of this mare, but at least she was no threat. Erastos stepped around the corner, and looked around for the mare he had scented and.. Oh.. His mane whisked his face, blocking his view as the wind buffeted the side of the mountain and chilled Erastos. He stepped towards the scent of mare blindly. Erastos stepped into a figure and stopped. The scent of mare drenched him. "Oh, uhhhh," Erastos stumbled as he flipped his head to clear away his forelock, "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there," Erastos said, struggling to find words, him being his awkward self.
Francine;
"Umphh." Francine said when the stallion stepped directly onto her. She managed to get out from the trees and around him into the clearing. She stopped and whirled on her haunches to face him. Francine let her eyes drift over the stallion as she closely studied him. She felt an odd tingling in her heart that she had never felt for a stallion before. Francine noticed him staring at her. 'Oh right, he said something..' Her eyes popped open and she replied: "It's okay..my fault. Really." Francine stumbled over her words and blushed. They stood in awkward silence until Francine realized she should say something. "My name is Francine." Her voice cracked in the middle and she blushed again, snorting and looking up to the sky, fidgeting.
Erastos;
Erastos stood as they looked at each other in silence, just looking every bit of her beautiful body over. He could admit to himself that he had felt this feeling of nevousness around a mare before, but as his eyes scaled up her body, he felt a tremor pass through his heart. He shook himself, trying to rid himself of this scary new feeling. 'Francine. A beautiful name for a beautiful mare,' Erastos thought to himself. "My name is Erastos," he said awkwardly as he took a step to the side and tripped over his hooves. "So, do you live with a herd?" Erastos managed to say whenever he righted himself. He forced himself to look away so that it didn't seem that he liked her. This gave him another reason to be awkward, not that that wasn't normal.
Francine;
Francine couldn't help but smile at the nervous stallion, but when he asked if she was a part of a herd she froze. She was the /leader/ of her herd. Francine didn't want to tell him this so fast as to scare him away, so she simply said: "Yes, I am a part a herd." She stood there tongue tied for a moment, her eyes wide open as she looked at the handsome stallion 'Erastos.' "Do you..live around here?" Francine asked, trying to get a conversation going. She felt so nervous and she didn't know why..she also knew that she shouldn't fall in love with the horse because she was the lead mare. But she couldn't help it..
Erastos;
Erastos' heart dropped when he heard she had a herd, she probably was already involved with another stallion anyways. Erastos sighed unhappily, 'Oh well, they all come and go,' Erastos thought. "Oh, no," Erastos began, "I don't live around here. Or anywhere, really, I'm a "drifter", a "rouge", a "herd-less"," Erastos said, tired of always being himself. Why couldn't he have a herd, and a family? Rather then being the quiet anti-social rouge he was. Erastos looked at Francine's eyes and breathed deeply; looking at the sky, he released a deep breath into the atmosphere. "Is your herd looking for more members?" Erastos said smoothly. 'What?! Who said that and where did that come from?' Erastos thought to himself, confused about what he had said. "Did I just say that?" Erastos said as he looked around warily, "Because I meant, 'Would I be allowed to meet your herd?'" Erastos said in his again awkward voice.
Francine;
Francine took a step back, unsure of what to say. "Well..umm." She said, looking away. "I can't be sure." Francine finally said. She wanted to get to know this handsome stallion some more before accepting him into their herd. What would the other horses think? But the thought of him all alone, a "rogue," was a sad thing for Francine to think about. She began to shake a little bit under the pressure and the feelings coming upon her. "Listen, I've..got to go now..I-" She hastily turned away and cantered into the woods away from the stallion. Francine hoped that hadn't looked rude or mean, but she couldn't help it. And as she cantered away into the sunset, she couldn't help but smile.
Erastos;
I let my eyes roll over her body slowly as I watched many emotions dance around in her small, beautiful eyes. I pulled my eyes away from her, knowing that staring at a mare you've just met can come off as rude.. and, well, stallion-like. I smiled at her, and watched her body start shaking. Before I could ask her if she was okay, she blurted out, "Listen, I've.. got to go now.. I-," she cut herself off in a turn and loped away quickly. My face fell in disappointment, but I struggled to smile just a small bit. Maybe if I came back to this place tomorrow, I could see her again, after all, she does have a herd she is in, so maybe she is busy.
I plod off, searching for a semi-comfortable place to rest. I find a dip in the stone, and curl up in it. Though the stone digs into my soft skin, I ignore it, and shut out the pain with thoughts of Francine.
Francine;
Francine groaned as she rolled to her feet and stood up. Her back was sore from sleeping in a cramped position against the boulders. She got up and stretched, snorting and grunting as her back stretched out. Francine looked back at the woods were she had came from the night before. Without knowing it, she began to walk back through the woods, drawn to the area were she had met the handsome stallion. She finally stopped by the clearing. The bright sun blocked her vision for a moment and she squinted, but then she could see him-standing on the other side of the meadow. Francine didn't know what to do. She tried to pick up her feet and trot towards him but she clumsy walked back into the stream of sunlight and tripped over her own feet and into a tree stump in the middle of the meadow.
Erastos;
My eyes were glued shut, the red shine-ing through my eyelids from the hot sun. I breathed deeply, concentrating on the beautiful mountain air - water, snow, forest, mare, fresh soil - wait. My eyes snapped open. I stared at a small mare in the meadow below. Francine? I bellowed out to her, letting her know where I was as I quickly made my way down the mountain, into the meadow where the liver chestnut shape was. I sped myself up into a quick lope, and I soon came upon Francine. I laughed as I asked her, "Are you okay?" A smile spread across my face, I was glad it was her.
Francine;
Francine let out a laugh herself, blushing at her clumsiness. "I'm..I'm okay." She said quickly. Looking up, she used Erastos's strong shoulder to pull herself up. Suddenly she realized what she had just done. Francine had felt the electricity between them when they had touched. Looking up at Erastos, she stared into his soft, gentle eyes. They stood in silence, their eyes glued to each other.
Erastos;
She brought herself off the ground using my shoulder. I let her, but electric waves passed through me, and my shoulder muscles tensed up. She looked up at me, her beautiful, soft eyes focused on mine. We stood, her small frame still leaning on my strong shoulder. I smiled down at her refined, small face. I slowly said, "Did you travel home safely?" my eyes were still focused on hers as I helped her stand straight. I couldn't pull my dark eyes off of her icey blue ones.
Francine;
Francine was confused for a moment by his question. She was to focused on staring into his deep chocolate brown eyes. "Oh!" She said, quickly snapping out of her daze. "I didn't go home last night..I just slept near a river. I uh..came back here." Francine looked back up at Erastos's handsome face. "I was hoping that you'd be here." She said nervously, blushing when she told him.
Erastos;
She waited for a moment to reply, still staring into my eyes. My heart warmed, she was so cute. "Oh, you didn't? Well, I'm glad you stayed safe," I say, and quietly to myself, 'I could never let anything happen to you,' she blushed as she said she was hoping I'd be here. I smiled softly. "And I was hoping you'd come back," I say softly, and gently lean forward towards her. Our breaths were colliding in smoke in the chilly air. I hesitated, not really ever having this interaction with a mare before. Despite my gut churning with uneasiness, I lean forward closer, and touch my muzzle softly to her forehead, letting my muzzle hover over her for a moment as we stood in silence.
